Street Patrol Officer – Braintree

Location: Braintree
Job Type: Fixed-term, 3 months
Shift Pattern: Day Shift
Shift Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days a week

• 09:30am – 17:30pm
• 8-hour shifts

Requirments:

• Valid Frontline SIA Licence – essential
• Previous security, street patrol, or public-facing security experience is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong conflict management and de-escalation skills
• Professional appearance and attitude
• Reliable and punctual
• Comfortable working outdoors

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular foot patrols across assigned areas of Colchester
• Maintain a highly visible and professional security presence
• Help deter anti-social behaviour and other suspicious or inappropriate activity
• Respond calmly and appropriately to incidents and disturbances
• Provide assistance, guidance, and reassurance to members of the public
• Monitor surroundings and identify and report suspicious activity
• Liaise with colleagues, management, emergency services, and other relevant parties when required
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and site instructions
• Complete accurate and detailed incident reports when required
• Maintain a professional and approachable manner at all times

Skills

• Strong observational skills with the ability to detect suspicious behaviour or safety issues quickly
• Knowledge of loss prevention techniques to prevent theft and vandalism effectively
• First aid certification to provide immediate assistance during medical emergencies
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with the public and collaborating with emergency responders
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure while handling challenging situations
