Close Protection Officer

Job Description:

Global Threat Solutions is seeking an experienced and highly professional Close Protection Officer (CPO) to join our Security team in the UK. This role is focused on supporting high-end retail environments and high-net-worth clientele, including UHNW clients, family offices, corporate executives, and celebrities, combining close protection principles with luxury retail security expertise.

This is an on-call, flexible position requiring adaptability, discretion, and a strong client-focused approach. The successful candidate will maintain a polished appearance and deliver a security presence that aligns with premium brand expectations.

Requirements:

• Maintain an impeccable professional appearance (black suit, white or black shirt, black tie, black dress shoes, or client-specific attire)
• Flexibility to work weekends, varied shifts, and on-call assignments
• Valid SIA Close Protection Licence (essential)
• Previous experience in front-line security roles (e.g. door supervision or close protection)
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in security or related fields
• High level of physical fitness

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a visible yet discreet security presence within luxury retail and client environments
• Patrol assigned areas and monitor premises to prevent theft, disorder, or breaches of policy
• Support close protection operations for VIPs, high-net-worth individuals, UHNW clients, family offices, corporate executives, and celebrities
• Conduct security checks and routine inspections of designated areas
• Identify, deter, and respond to suspicious behaviour or potential threats
• Produce clear and accurate incident and activity reports
• Liaise effectively with store management, asset protection teams, and external agencies

Experience & Competencies:

• Strong detection and deterrence capabilities
• Proven experience within luxury retail security environments
• Background in security, law enforcement, military, or door supervision preferred
• Excellent conflict management and problem-solving skills
• Solid understanding of loss prevention strategies and retail risk management

Skills:

• Ability to respond to emergency situations calmly and effectively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail
• Professional, discreet, and client-focused mindset

Working Pattern:

• On-call / floater position
• 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts
• Day, evening, and weekend work as required
