Job Summary

Critical Infrastructure Security Officer

SMS Security is seeking experienced, highly professional Security Officers with a minimum of (1) years of experience at each previous security position. Candidates must have a proven background protecting critical infrastructure and high-security environments while maintaining exceptional professionalism, integrity, and customer service.

Qualified applicants should have experience securing one or more of the following facilities:

• Hospitals and healthcare campuses
• Banks and financial institutions
• Power plants and energy facilities
• Water treatment and utility facilities
• Government buildings
• Corporate campuses
• Data centers
• Manufacturing and industrial facilities
• Transportation hubs
• Military or defense-related facilities

Primary Responsibilities

• Control access to secured facilities through identification verification and visitor management.
• Conduct routine and random foot and vehicle patrols.
• Monitor CCTV surveillance systems, alarm systems, and access control systems.
• Respond to emergencies, alarms, suspicious activity, medical incidents, fires, and security breaches.
• Prepare detailed, accurate, and professional incident reports and daily activity reports.
• Enforce company policies, client procedures, and site-specific security protocols.
• Perform vehicle inspections, perimeter security checks, and facility inspections.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, and client management during emergencies.
• De-escalate confrontational situations using sound judgment and conflict resolution techniques.
• Protect personnel, visitors, confidential information, and company assets.
• Maintain situational awareness while identifying and reporting potential safety or security risks.
• Operate communication equipment, including radios and emergency notification systems.
• Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and excellent customer service at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) consecutive years of security experience at each employer listed on the resume.
• Experience in critical infrastructure security is required.
• Valid California Guard Card (or ability to obtain before employment).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to write professional incident reports.
• Ability to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to stand, walk, patrol, and respond to emergencies for extended periods.
• Ability to pass a background check and any site-specific screening requirements.

Pay: $23.00 – $24.00 per hour
