Duties

• Conduct regular patrols of the store premises, including aisles, entrances, exits, and back areas to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards
• Manage access control systems to verify authorized entry of employees and visitors, ensuring adherence to security policies
• Observe CCTV surveillance footage continuously to identify potential security threats or irregularities
• Respond promptly to incidents such as thefts, disturbances, or emergencies by following established procedures and coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary
• Write detailed incident reports documenting observations, actions taken, and outcomes for record-keeping and future reference
• Assist with performing background checks on new employees or vendors as part of the store’s security protocol
• Support emergency response procedures including first aid administration, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, and fire safety measures

Skills

• Strong knowledge of surveillance techniques utilizing CCTV systems and other security technology
• Background in military or law enforcement enhances situational awareness and conflict management skills
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to de-escalate conflicts calmly and professionally
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting when necessary for safety or operational needs
• Proficiency in incident report writing with clear documentation of events and actions taken
• Familiarity with access control systems and security regulations applicable in retail environments
• Competence in emergency response procedures including first aid, CPR, AED operation, and fire safety protocols
• Physical security expertise combined with conflict de-escalation skills ensures a safe shopping environment for all
