Securemedy Incorporated is seeking experienced MD Unarmed Campus Safety Officer to join our team in Bethesda, Maryland. Position Overview

As a Campus Safety Officer, you will serve as a visible ambassador for safety while building positive relationships throughout the campus community. This position combines campus security, customer service, emergency response, access control, and safety preparedness to support a secure and welcoming learning environment.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills, sound judgment, emotional intelligence, and the ability to professionally de-escalate situations. This position requires standing and walking for extended periods and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Foster a safe, welcoming, and supportive campus environment.
• Provide exceptional customer service to students, staff, families, and visitors.
• Monitor entrances, manage visitor access, and support access control procedures.
• Conduct routine patrols to identify and address safety concerns.
• Support student arrival, dismissal, events, and daily campus operations.
• Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, medical incidents, and safety concerns.
• Use appropriate de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts professionally.
• Collaborate with school leadership, faculty, staff, and emergency responders.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and other required documentation.
• Provide safety and security coverage across multiple campus locations as needed.
• Maintain a professional and approachable presence throughout the campus.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Security Guard License or applicable security credential required.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Prior school security, campus safety, military, law enforcement, or related security experience strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, customer service, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, families, and visitors.
• Demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, emotional intelligence, and respect for diverse populations.
• Must successfully complete a drug screening and physical examination.

Required Certifications

• Active Maryland Security Guard License.
• CPR/First Aid/AED Certification.
