Security Guard

The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all participants, program staff, and visitors during program operating hours. This includes maintaining a visible presence, monitoring the premises, and responding to incidents or emergencies as needed. The Security Guard must be present at all times while the program is in operation.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a secure and welcoming environment for all program participants and staff.
• Be present and alert during all program hours.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to prevent unauthorized access or unsafe behavior.
• Conduct routine patrols of the facility and surrounding areas.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents, emergencies, or disturbances.
• Collaborate with program staff to support safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Complete incident reports and maintain accurate security logs.
• Communicate effectively with staff, participants, and emergency personnel when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures related to safety and security.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid security guard license/certification required.
• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Work Schedule: Partial Year Part Time (10 month), 15 hours a week

This position operates on the school calendar and is scheduled Monday to Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on school days only. Hours are not scheduled during school holidays, recess periods, school closures, or the summer months, and employees are not compensated for time not worked during these periods.
