SMI Security Services – Miami & Fort Lauderdale Ports

SMI Security Services is currently seeking professional, reliable, and experienced Certified TWIC Security Officers to support multiple port security operations in both Miami and Fort Lauderdale. We are actively looking for dedicated security professionals who are ready to work in fast-paced, high-security environments and become part of a strong security team.

Current OpeningsPort Everglades – Fort Lauderdale

SMI is currently hiring 9 Security Officers for Port Everglades.

Available Shifts

• Morning Shifts
• Night Shifts

Schedule & Hours

• Shifts range from 8 to 12 hours
• Average weekly hours: 32 to 45 hours per week
• Overtime opportunities may be available based on operational needs

Pay Rate

• $16.50 per hour

Responsibilities

• Monitor and secure assigned port facilities
• Conduct patrols and inspections throughout the property
• Verify access credentials and maintain controlled entry points
• Observe and report suspicious activity or incidents
• Maintain a visible and professional security presence
• Complete daily activity reports and incident documentation
• Follow all port security procedures and safety protocols

Port of Miami – Patrol / Supervisor Position

SMI is also seeking a Patrol/Supervisor Officer to support operations at the Port of Miami.

Schedule

• Afternoon shifts
• Weekend availability required

Pay Rate

• $17.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Conduct patrol operations throughout the property
• Support and supervise security staff during assigned shifts
• Respond to incidents and assist officers when needed
• Ensure all site procedures and client expectations are being followed
• Maintain communication with management and client representatives
• Assist with shift coverage and operational support when necessary

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for these positions, candidates must possess:

• Valid TWIC Card (Required)
• Valid Florida Security D License (Required)
• Valid Driver License (Required)
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work long shifts, including weekends and holidays if needed
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
