Unarmed Security Guard

Job Summary

Safeguard On Demand, Inc. is seeking a professional, dependable, and observant Unarmed Security Guard to maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, visitors, vendors, and properties.

This position requires walking and standing for extended periods throughout the shift. The security officer will also be responsible for monitoring property access, checking in visitors and employees, processing delivery drivers and trucks, conducting regular patrols, and maintaining accurate security logs and reports.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control property entrances and exits.
• Check in and verify visitors, employees, vendors, contractors, delivery drivers, and trucks entering the property.
• Verify identification, authorization, delivery information, and other required credentials before granting access.
• Maintain accurate visitor, vendor, and delivery logs.
• Direct delivery trucks and drivers to the appropriate authorized areas when required.
• Conduct regular foot patrols of buildings, parking areas, loading areas, common areas, and the property perimeter.
• Walk and stand for extended periods throughout the shift while maintaining an active security presence.
• Monitor CCTV cameras, access-control systems, gates, and other security equipment when required.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, trespassing, safety hazards, property damage, unauthorized access, and other security concerns.
• Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, disturbances, complaints, and emergency situations.
• Contact supervisors, dispatch, law enforcement, fire departments, or emergency medical services when required.
• Enforce property rules and site-specific security procedures professionally and consistently.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports and detailed incident reports.
• Take required time-stamped photographs and properly document patrol activities.
• Provide professional customer service when interacting with employees, visitors, vendors, contractors, and delivery personnel.
• Follow all post orders, company policies, and instructions provided by supervisors or management.

Qualifications & Skills

• Valid California BSIS Guard Card required.
• Previous security experience preferred.
• Must be reliable, punctual, professional, and attentive.
• Strong observation and situational-awareness skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to write clear and accurate security reports.
• Strong customer-service and conflict-de-escalation skills.
• Experience with CCTV, access-control systems, visitor management, or gate operations is a plus.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification is a plus.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and dispatch.

Physical Requirements

This is an active security position and is not a primarily seated post. The officer must be physically capable of:

• Standing for long periods during the shift.
• Walking and conducting foot patrols for extended periods.
• Regularly moving between entrances, gates, loading areas, parking areas, and other designated patrol locations.
• Working indoors and outdoors as required by the assigned post.
• Performing assigned security duties safely throughout the scheduled shift, with or without reasonable accommodation.

What We Expect

At Safeguard On Demand, we take professionalism, reliability, and accurate reporting seriously. Security officers are expected to remain alert and active, properly check in authorized personnel and deliveries, complete assigned patrols, accurately document their activities, and maintain a professional appearance and attitude throughout their shift.

Pay: $19.00 – $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 40.0 per week

Work Location: In person
