Armed Security Officer (School Campus)

About the Position

VETS Securing America (VSA) is seeking professional, reliable, and highly motivated Armed Security Officers to provide security services for a school campus in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will possess strong situational awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain a safe and secure educational environment for students, staff, and visitors.

ResponsibilitiesCampus Security & Safety

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, visitors, and school property.
• Provide a visible security presence throughout the campus.
• Deter criminal activity through proactive patrols and high visibility.
• Enforce school policies and security procedures.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

Access Control

• Monitor all entrances and exits during school hours.
• Verify identification of all visitors before granting access.
• Ensure visitors sign in and receive proper visitor badges.
• Prevent unauthorized individuals from entering campus.
• Monitor deliveries and vendor access.

Campus Patrol

• Conduct continuous interior and exterior patrols.
• Patrol classrooms, administrative offices, cafeterias, gyms, libraries, and common areas.
• Monitor parking lots, athletic fields, playgrounds, portable buildings, and surrounding property.
• Inspect doors, gates, windows, and access points for security concerns.
• Identify and report maintenance, safety, or security hazards.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Pass a criminal background check meeting Texas licensing standards.
• Possess a current and valid Texas Level III Commissioned Security Officer License issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
• Pass a drug screening.
• Attend VSA orientation.

Required Duty Gear

Applicants must provide:

• Full-size duty firearm (compact firearms are not accepted)
• Duty belt
• Three magazines with magazine holders
• Two sets of handcuffs
• Pepper spray gel
• Taser
• Flashlight

Preferred Qualifications

• Military or law enforcement experience preferred but not required.
• Minimum one year of armed school security experience preferred.
• Experience working with juveniles.
• Knowledge of emergency evacuation, reunification, and lockdown procedures.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• 8-hour and 10-hour shifts available
• School-based assignment

Compensation

• $19.00 per hour
