Job Summary
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Security Officer assists with proper building security patrols and surveillance of the premises to protect staff and visitors. This position is responsible for detecting suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, theft, or other criminal behavior.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence

· Monitor and authorize the entrance of vehicles and/or people on the property

· Remove trespassers or redirect those with improper/unapproved access

· Secure exits, doors, and windows

· Respond to alarms and assess the situation to determine proper notification of other personnel and departments

· Quickly respond to critical situations with the ability to read and write detailed reports

· Foster and develop a cooperative relationship with local law enforcement

· Properly handle all Company equipment, including radios, computer equipment, flashlights, uniforms, etc.

One year security experience preferred

· Basic computer skills

· One year of customer service or a similar customer-facing role experience

· Ability to walk for at least half the shift

· Ability to lift at least 45 lbs.

· Preferably lives and knows Columbus

· This person will be working alone so needs to be reliable and trustworthy

· Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required

Minimum Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or Equivalent

· Minimum of one (1) year of security experience

· Must pass pre-employment drug testing

· Previous military, EMS or law enforcement experience preferred

· To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Physical and Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, it is required to frequently sit, stand, walk, talk or hear.

Required to stand or walk for extended periods of time (up to 10 hours).

On occasion, you may be required to climb and work in high places, stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.

Position may also require work in confined spaces and exposure to various outdoor weather conditions.

Must occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 45 pounds.
