Armed/Unarmed Security Officer

Overview:

• CURRENT OPOTA CERTIFICATION RECOMMENDED

Seeking Armed and Unarmed Security Agents to protect staff and observe and report at various locations throughout Columbus OH. This is NOT a loss prevention role, it is strictly to provide a deterrent and observe and report. Guards will utilize smart phone app to fill out reports and to clock in/out.

Duties:

• Protect personnel inside the facility
• De-escalate any potentially dangerous confrontations as effectively as possible
• Utilize force only when absolutely necessary and as a last resort
• Interact with staff and customers with professionally, and greet all customers as they enter and exit
• Observe and report any incidents
• Utilize proper chain-of-command to conduct incident reports
• Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies when necessary

Requirements:

• Miliary or prior law enforcement experience is strongly preferred
• Previous experience in a security-related role is required
• Proper weapons handling and competition of OPOTA 20-hour course is preferred
• Training and experience in trauma first aid is preferred (Stop The Bleed, TCCC, CLS)
• Knowledge of surveillance operations is preferred
• Strong conflict management skills to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally
• Excellent observation skills to identify potential threats or risks
• Strong attention to detail and observation skills
• Customer service skills
• Well groomed and neat kept appearance
• Agents must provide their own sidearm with open carry holster, black plate carrier with security patch and three magazines with two mag pouches
• Ability to use smart phone app to create reports and clock in/out
