Retail Security Officer

Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and professional Retail Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the store environment, preventing theft, and responding promptly to emergencies. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic retail setting, maintaining a safe shopping experience for all visitors.

Duties

• Conduct regular surveillance of the store using CCTV systems to monitor activity and identify potential security threats.
• Patrol the premises to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorised access.
• Assist in loss prevention efforts by observing customer behaviour and intervening when necessary.
• Respond swiftly to incidents or emergencies, including medical situations, by providing first aid if required.
• Maintain detailed reports of security incidents and irregularities for management review.
• Enforce store policies and procedures related to security and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.

Skills

• Proven experience with surveillance systems and CCTV operation.
• Strong understanding of loss prevention techniques within a retail environment.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
• Good observational skills with keen attention to detail.
• First aid certification is highly desirable, with the ability to provide basic medical assistance if needed.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Organised and reliable with a professional demeanour at all times. This position is integral to maintaining a secure shopping environment while providing excellent customer service through proactive engagement and vigilance.

Pay: £13.25 per hour
