DCS Group | PAYE | Full-Time Contracted Role
DCS Group, a Top 100 ACS Approved Contractor and Infosec-accredited security provider, is seeking experienced K9 Security Officers (Handlers) to support operations within the Thames Estuary area of Essex, protecting critical national infrastructure.
This is a permanent PAYE opportunity offering stability, structure, and the chance to work within a professional, high-performing team.
Role Overview
This is an active operational role, requiring handlers to work daily with their K9 unit in a real-world security environment. You will be responsible for deterrence, detection, and response to potential threats across a high-risk, high-value site.
Working Pattern
- Minimum 36 hours per week
- Saturday & Sunday – Day shifts
- Two weekday night shifts (9 hours each)
- Additional hours available for holiday and operational cover
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high-visibility K9 patrols across designated areas
- Deter and respond to intrusion, theft, and hostile activity
- Maintain full control, discipline, and welfare of your K9 unit
- Carry out searches, patrols, and targeted interventions
- Work collaboratively with site security teams and management
- Accurately record incidents and maintain professional reporting standards
Essential Requirements
- Valid NASDU Certification (General Purpose or equivalent)
- Up-to-date training and immunisation records for your dog
- Ability to pass a practical assessment, including:
- Command & control
- Obedience and handling
- Hostile intervention scenarios
- Intruder engagement and safe detention techniques
- Strong physical fitness and operational capability
- SIA Licence (required)
