Position Overview

Gladious Security Ltd. is seeking professional, reliable, and customer-service-oriented Casual Security Guards to join our team for event security and retail site assignments.

This is a flexible, casual position suitable for individuals looking for additional shifts, evening/weekend work, or on-call security opportunities. Guards may be assigned to retail stores, shopping centres, special events, sporting events, concerts, and other commercial locations.

Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Security

• Provide professional security and crowd-control services at events, concerts, sporting events, and special functions.
• Monitor entrances, exits, restricted areas, and assigned posts.
• Conduct access control and verify authorization when required.
• Assist with crowd management and maintain a safe and orderly environment.
• Monitor guest activity and report suspicious or unauthorized activity.
• Respond professionally to incidents, disturbances, and emergencies.
• Provide directions and general assistance to guests when required.
• Follow event-specific procedures and instructions from supervisors and clients.
• Complete incident reports and shift documentation accurately.

Retail Site Security

• Conduct regular patrols of assigned retail locations.
• Monitor customers, employees, entrances, exits, and other designated areas.
• Deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other unauthorized activity.
• Respond appropriately to security incidents and notify supervisors or emergency services when required.
• Maintain a visible and professional security presence.
• Follow site-specific post orders and client procedures.
• Prepare clear and accurate daily activity and incident reports.
• Communicate professionally with store management, employees, customers, and the public.

Requirements

• Valid BC Security Worker Licence (SWL).
• Previous security experience is an asset; experience in retail or event security is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Reliable and punctual with strong attendance.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Comfortable working evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays when required.
• Reliable transportation is an asset, depending on the assignment.
• Basic computer and report-writing skills are an asset.
