Security Guard

Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring activities, preventing loss, and maintaining a secure environment through surveillance and proactive security measures. This role is vital in protecting assets and upholding the safety standards of our organization.

Duties

• Construction Site Security Guard – Job Duties
• Monitor and patrol the construction site to prevent theft, vandalism, trespassing, and unauthorized access
• Control access to the site by checking identification of workers, contractors, and visitors
• Maintain a log of all site activity, including deliveries, incidents, and visitor entries
• Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of the perimeter, equipment areas, and temporary structures
• Ensure gates, doors, and fences are secured at all times, especially after working hours
• Observe and report any safety hazards, suspicious behavior, or policy violations to management
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents and follow established emergency procedures
• Liaise with site supervisors, contractors, and emergency services when required
• Enforce site rules and safety protocols in a professional and respectful manner
• Complete incident reports and daily activity reports accurately and on time
• Monitor CCTV systems (if applicable) and report any irregularities
• Provide a visible security presence to deter criminal activity and enhance site safety

Requirements

• Valid Security Guard License (as required by provincial regulations)
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Previous security experience preferred (construction or industrial site experience is an asset)
• Strong observation and situational awareness skills
• Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods, including overnight shifts
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to write clear and accurate incident and daily activity reports
• Physically capable of standing, walking, and patrolling for long hours in various weather conditions
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: $17.60-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
