Position Overview

Job Title: Casual Security Guard
Employment Type: Temporary / Casual
Pay Rate: $18.35 per hour (or depending on site)
Site: Varies (West End)
Schedule: Varies
Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement (AA) calculated after 88 hours

Site Overview

This casual position supports various client locations across Ottawa’s West End. Working across these sites provides a dynamic environment where you will support daily safety operations, assist visitors, and ensure security standards are maintained across different facilities.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Conduct foot patrols of assigned areas to maintain safety and security.

• Greet employees, visitors, and guests at designated entrances.

• Monitor CCTV cameras and manage access control systems from the control room.

• Perform parking enforcement duties as required by the client site.

• Perform additional security duties as assigned.

Must Haves

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License.

• Valid First Aid and CPR Level C certification.

• Judicial Matters Criminal Records Check.

• Legal authorization to work in Canada.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated punctuality, reliability, tact, and diplomacy.

Nice-to-Haves

• Previous security guard experience.

• Previous customer service experience.

• Post-secondary education in a Law Enforcement or Security program from a recognized college.
