Job Summary

We are seeking a Purchasing/Procurement Officer to support warehouse and operational needs by sourcing and managing security, telecommunications, and audio-video materials for daily operations and projects.

The role includes evaluating and negotiating with specialized vendors, ensuring technical suitability, quality, and cost effectiveness, and maintaining optimal inventory levels. In addition, the position is responsible for maintaining accurate pricing within the internal (Job Builder) database to support quoting and procurement accuracy. Working closely with internal technical teams and suppliers, this role ensures correct specifications, reliable products, up-to-date pricing, and timely delivery in alignment with internal systems and operational requirements.

Duties

  • Identify high-impact cost-reduction opportunities
  • Oversee warehouse operations, including management of warehouse resources
  • Placing orders with vendors
  • Liaison with stakeholders (Team Leads, Bid Centre) on pricing
  • Maintain current pricing in data base (Job Builder)
  • Leverage the organization’s buying power to optimize costs, access new suppliers, reduce lead times, and guarantee supply
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential buyers and suppliers to the organization
  • Respond to in-house stakeholders and customer service inquiries clarify requirements and provide information as needed
  • Assess the requirements and develop specifications for equipment, materials, and supplies to be purchased
  • Consult with suppliers and review quotations
  • Determine and negotiate contract terms and conditions with vendors
  • Establish logistics of delivery schedules, monitor progress, and contact in-house stakeholders, clients and suppliers to resolve problems
  • Research potential vendors
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery
  • Enter order details received and back ordered into the internal database (Job Builder)
  • Review quality/damaged purchased products
  • Risk and Inventory management
  • Maintaining good supplier relations
  • Year-end inventory for all divisions
  • Matching & verifying distributions & manufactures invoices
  • Coordination of logistics for equipment calibration

Qualifications

  • Good stamina and ability to be on their feet for long periods and physically capable of lifting 50lbs.
  • 5+ years experience in the telecommunication/security/AV
  • Experience operating a computer and various software
  • Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance
  • Good verbal and writing skills.
  • Effective communicator with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
