Bouncer / Host

The Dogwood Bar is looking for a Thursday Night Bouncer/Host to join our team!

We are looking for a reliable, professional and friendly individual to work Thursday evenings. The ideal candidate is confident, approachable and comfortable working in a busy bar environment while helping maintain a safe and welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests as they arrive
• Host the door and manage guest seating
• Seat guests efficiently and manage table availability
• Check IDs and ensure guests meet age requirements
• Monitor the entrance and manage guest flow
• Maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment
• Monitor guest behaviour and address issues professionally
• Assist staff with managing difficult or disruptive situations when required
• Communicate effectively with bartenders, servers and management
• Monitor capacity and ensure house policies are followed
• Assist with line management and guest wait times
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional presence

Requirements

• Previous security, bouncer, hosting or customer service experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Confident and professional demeanor
• Ability to remain calm and use good judgment in difficult situations
• Reliable and punctual
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced bar environment
• Must be able to stand and remain active for the duration of the shift
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment
