Contract Security Officer (Part-Time)

Surveillance Security Inc., a veteran-owned and operated company, is seeking a professional Contract Security Officer (CSO) to provide security services in a high-volume healthcare environment serving our nation’s veterans. Pay & Schedule

• $25.35/hour
• $5.09/hr for Health & Welfare (H&W) Fringe Benefit for all hours worked in addition to regular pay.

Part-Time | 20 Hours Per Week

(2) Openings with "FIXED" Schedules. Applicants must confirm which shift they are interested in and can reliably work.

• (1 Opening) Swing Shift – Monday and Tuesday, 14:00 to 22:30
• (1 Opening) Graveyard Shift – Monday and Tuesday, 22:00 to 06:30

As a Contract Security Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate must demonstrate:

• Outstanding verbal communication skills
• Strong written communication and report-writing abilities
• Proven ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
• Training and experience in de-escalating hostile or aggressive individuals
• Capability to conduct thorough investigations, gather witness statements, and prepare detailed incident reports
• Knowledge of relevant laws regarding citizen’s arrests and security protocols.

Key Responsibilities

1. **Foot Patrols**

Conduct regular foot patrols of assigned areas to detect unusual or suspicious activity and perform routine security checks of all entrances and exits.

2. **Access Control**

Monitor and regulate access to restricted areas, verify identification, and maintain accurate visitor logs.

3. **Emergency Response**

Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, disturbances, and security incidents while adhering to established protocols and procedures.

4. **Conflict Resolution and De-escalation**

Professionally manage and de-escalate volatile situations involving patients, visitors, or staff, providing compassionate support when appropriate.

5. **Behavioral Monitoring**

Observe and report behaviors that may compromise safety or security, ensuring compliance with facility policies.

6. **Incident Reporting**

Accurately document all security incidents, disturbances, injuries, and breaches, preparing clear and comprehensive reports for follow-up investigations.

7. **Collaboration with Healthcare Staff**

Work closely with medical professionals to support patient care while maintaining strict safety and security standards. Participate in joint training and drills as required.

8. **Safety Inspections**

Perform regular safety and security inspections of equipment and facilities, identifying potential hazards and recommending improvements.

9. **Customer Service**

Provide exceptional assistance to patients and visitors by offering directions, information, and support in a courteous and professional manner.

10. **Crisis Management**

Actively participate in crisis intervention and management efforts involving disruptive behavior or potential threats.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Valid California Guard Card (Required)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in security services and customer service within a high-volume healthcare environment
• Strong communication, report writing, and conflict de-escalation skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies and critical incidents

Employment Requirements

• Must successfully pass all required background screenings
• Mandatory to complete and pass a comprehensive medical physical examination and behavioral health assessment
• Must be physically capable of standing, walking, and conducting continuous patrols of targeted entrance areas and facility grounds throughout assigned shifts
