Female Security Guard – Shelter & Supportive Housing Sites (Full-Time / Part-Time / Casual)

Phylax Security is currently hiring professional, experienced, and compassionate Female Security Guards for shelter and supportive housing locations across Downtown Toronto and the GTA.

We are looking for guards who are confident, reliable, professional under pressure, and experienced in dealing with vulnerable individuals, conflict de-escalation, and access control in sensitive environments.

This position requires strong communication skills, professionalism, patience, awareness, and the ability to maintain a calm and respectful presence at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Access control and monitoring entry/exit points
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols
• Monitor shelter activity and ensure site safety
• Incident reporting and detailed daily reports
• De-escalate conflicts professionally and safely
• Maintain professional communication with staff, residents, and visitors
• Respond to emergencies and follow site protocols
• Enforce site rules and maintain order
• Work closely with management and operations team

Requirements:

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Minimum 1–3 years security experience
• Previous experience in: Shelters, Supportive housing, Healthcare, Community housing, Residential security
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
• Physically fit and able to stand/walk for extended periods
• Professional appearance and attitude
• Reliable transportation is an asset
• CPR/First Aid Certification preferred

Compensation:

Rate varies based on site assignment, shift type, and guard certification level.

Positions available for:

• Full-time
• Part-time
• Morning / Evening / Overnight / Weekends shifts
