Position: Security Guard
Site: Seneca Polytechnic – Newnham
City: North York, ON
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Status: Full-Time
Hours: Continental Rotation – 0700-1900/1900-0700
Pay Rate: $19.00 – $20.50/ an hour

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive foot and vehicle patrols throughout Newnham’s extensive facilities, academic buildings, residence, and student spaces
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and medical emergencies with confidence and care
• Provide excellent customer service and information to students, visitors, and faculty
• Monitor access, enforce campus policies, and assist with crowd management during events
• Prepare thorough incident reports and assist with investigations
• Engage with Toronto Police, Fire, EMS, and campus partners as needed

Qualifications

• Legally Authorized to Work in Canada
• Ontario Security Guard License
• First Aid/CPR • Strong communication skills and an upbeat, professional attitude
• Ability to handle fast-paced, diverse campus demands
• Prior post-secondary or healthcare security experience an asset
• Bilingual/multilingual skills are a plus
• Must not be a current Seneca student at Newnham
