Job Overview (Watchful Guard – Armed Security Officer)
We are seeking experienced and highly responsible Armed Security Officers to protect our clients’ properties, personnel, and assets. At Watchful Guard, this role requires strong judgment, professionalism, and strict adherence to safety protocols. As an Armed Officer, you are entrusted with a higher level of responsibility while maintaining our commitment to prevention, awareness, and detailed reporting.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas to observe, deter, and report unsafe or suspicious activity
• Carry and maintain issued firearm in accordance with BSIS regulations and company policy
• Follow all use-of-force guidelines and maintain a strict hands-off approach unless a true emergency involving immediate danger requires action
• Maintain situational awareness and make sound decisions under pressure
• Use a smartphone or tablet to check in and out, complete detailed reports, log patrols, take photos, and communicate with supervisors
• Monitor cameras or security systems for unusual behavior
• Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, emergencies, or incidents
• De-escalate situations calmly and respectfully whenever possible
• Coordinate with local law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary
• Check locks, gates, lighting, and other security equipment to ensure proper function
• Be able to write clear, accurate, and thorough incident reports

Qualifications

• Prior armed security experience required
• Valid BSIS Guard Card and BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit
• Valid firearm qualification and training documentation
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred
• Comfortable using smartphones and mobile reporting apps
• Valid government-issued ID
• Reliable transportation to and from job sites
• Strong decision-making skills and ability to remain calm in high-stress situations
• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while following site-specific and company protocols
