We are seeking a reliable and observant Armed Protective Agent to help maintain a safe, secure environment for our clients, staff, and visitors at a local facility. Responsibilities include patrolling assigned areas, monitoring security systems, enforcing site rules, and responding to incidents with calm professionalism. Duties:

  • Patrol multiple locations within an assigned area and monitor for any suspicious or unauthorized activities, persons, or vehicles.
  • Provide protective transportation by safely driving and escorting a designated principal while maintaining situational awareness, discretion, and security at all times.
  • Check and secure surrounding areas, doors, windows, gates, and other access points.
  • Enforce the rules and regulations of the client and prevent any violations or disturbances.
  • Assist staff, and visitors with any security-related issues or requests.
  • Respond to any alarms, incidents, or emergencies that may occur and provide assistance or backup as needed.
  • Use your weapon only when necessary and in accordance with the law and company policies.
  • Report any incidents or issues to the supervisor and the appropriate authorities.
  • Maintain a log of your activities and observations.
  • Maintain your weapon and other equipment in good condition and report any malfunctions or damages.
  • Attend regular training and meetings to update your skills and knowledge.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess an active and valid BSIS security guard card & BSIS firearm permit
  • BSIS training records for review upon hire
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must possess a valid CPR and first aid certification
  • Knowledge of security procedures and protocols
  • Ability to use a weapon and other security equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with staff, visitors, and authorities.
  • Ability to observe and report any suspicious or unusual activities or situations.
  • Ability to make sound judgments and decisions in stressful or emergency situations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform the duties of the job.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years of experience in security, military, or law enforcement

Background Prerequisites:

Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess a current and valid BSIS Baton Permit and any other certifications or training related to less-lethal force or defensive equipment.
  • Formal training in de-escalation tactics, conflict resolution or crisis intervention
  • Prior experience in private security, law enforcement, military, or related protective services preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Work performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • May be required to respond quickly to emergencies, incidents, or security threats.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during patrols or supervision of officers.
  • Ability to climb stairs, conduct foot patrols, and perform physical inspections of facilities.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, or reach as needed during inspections or incident response.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to operate communication equipment, computers, and surveillance systems.
  • May be exposed to stressful or emergency situations involving injured, distressed, or combative individuals.
  • Requires frequent interaction with staff, visitors, and the public.
  • Work schedules may include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended or rotating shifts depending on operational needs.
  • Must be able to remain alert, focused, and responsive throughout the shift.
