Position Overview
OnPatrol, Inc. is seeking a vigilant, disciplined, and highly professional Security Officer to protect a high-end, family-owned luxury jewelry boutique. This site requires strict access control, high situational awareness, and the ability to interact respectfully with staff and clientele, many of whom are part of the South Asian community.
This officer holds a critical responsibility—protecting employees, safeguarding jewelry assets, preventing theft/robbery, and maintaining complete control of access into the store.
This is an armed assignment.
Required Licenses & Equipment
Must be carried at all times on duty:
- Valid BSIS Guard Card
- BSIS Firearm Permit (if armed)
- Company ID Card
Required equipment (provided or approved by company):
- Tactical vest (mandatory)
- Black-soled shoes
- Handcuffs
- Taser
- Baton
- Pepper spray (OC)
- Body-worn camera
Primary Responsibilities1. Access Control (Most Important Duty)
- Maintain strict control of entry/exit at the front door.
- Enforce one-door-closes-before-the-other-opens policy—no exceptions.
- Verify faces of all entrants (no hats, sunglasses, or masks covering identity).
- Use professional discretion when deciding whether to allow guests entry.
- Reference “By Appointment Only” signage if uncertain.
- Ensure exterior door fully clicks closed when shutting.
- Keep entrance click counter updated for every group entering.
2. Surveillance & Threat Detection
- Constantly monitor interior and exterior activity.
- Identify suspicious persons, loiterers, potential distraction tactics, or criminal pre-indicators.
- Position yourself visibly at the front to deter theft or organized groups.
- Confirm jewelry case security—visually check closures/locks frequently.
- Report unattended clients to the sales team immediately.
3. Customer Interaction & Professionalism
- Maintain a professional posture at all times—no cell phone use on duty.
- Greet clients with courtesy; assist with exits by opening the first door.
- Direct guests to appropriate sales staff whenever needed.
- Politely ask patrons to leave drinks in the waiting area.
- Refrain from small talk, over-familiarity, or requesting personal info/social media from staff or customers.
4. Emergency Response
- Carry the panic alarm button at all times (excluding lunch/breaks).
- Activate panic button in any criminal or emergency situation to trigger interior/exterior sirens.
- Use good judgment to determine appropriate activation timing.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain DAR entries for deliveries, important events, and observations.
- Track entry counts using provided click counter.
- Follow all timekeeping protocols (see below).
6. Opening & Closing Procedures
- Assist with tasks associated with both opening and closing.
- Officer will be last to leave the building—except an owner/manager who sets the alarm.
- Maintain heightened awareness during these vulnerable times.
Timekeeping Requirements
Security Officers must:
- Use the on-site electronic timeclock to punch in/out.
- Punch out for lunch and back in afterward.
- Complete a paper timecard daily and obtain management signature at end of each shift.
Site Rules & Conduct
- Parking: Back-in parking directly in front of store facing the entrance.
- Maintain visibility even during breaks/lunch by remaining parked at the storefront.
- Lunch and breaks must be authorized by on-site management; entrance clicker must remain inside.

- no smoking/vaping
- no fraternizing
Entry Screening & Risk Assessment
Officer may:
- Refuse entry to individuals who pose a safety risk.
- Admit one person at a time from suspicious groups.
- Request sales staff to engage when needed.
- Stay alert to distractions designed to divert attention.
Reliability Standards (Critical)
This post requires absolute punctuality and reliability.
- More than 3 late arrivals = automatic removal from the site.
- More than 2 call-offs within 90 days = not acceptable.
- Must notify security management if running more than 15 minutes late.
- Call-offs require a minimum of 4 hours notice.
- Timeliness is verified through on-site surveillance systems.
