Security Guard – Oakland

Marina Security Services is a minority-owned and operated firm specializing in security services and guard staffing.

We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our East Bay team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This role requires a proactive approach to security, including monitoring premises, preventing losses, and responding to emergencies. Candidates should possess skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Essential Functions

• Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective interaction with staff and the public
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies
• Strong observational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize theft and damage
• Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and activities during shifts
• Collaborate with law enforcement when necessary to address security issues

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have valid BSIS Guard Card with Powers to Arrest & Appropriate Use of Force certificate
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays
• Ability to perform necessary physical duties, i.e., walking, standing, and making necessary rounds
• Must have basic computer skills and ability to use a smartphone
