Security Officer (with OC) – On-call and Full-Time

Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive minded person to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees, while building relationships with people from all walks of life.

Responsibilities:

– Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish a security presence

– Investigate alarms or disturbances and act to resolve security issues

– Create reports for management on any incidents that occur during shifts

– Escort individuals off the premises when necessary

– Build relationships with everyone from residents to houseless

– Maintain state and company required certifications

Qualifications:

– Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or related field preferred

– Ability to handle conflicts and emergencies calmly

– CPR and First Aid certification preferred

– Must possess a currently valid security certificate from BSIS

– Must possess valid BSIS-required training certificates

– Must possess a smart phone, with the ability to effectively utilize multiple applications built for the job

– Must possess the ability to utilize the English language effectively to communicate in person and through writing

– Must be comfortable wearing an exterior load bearing, police style vest (provided if needed), to be able to carry necessary lifesaving and security equipment.

– Must be comfortable carrying OC spray (training can be given if needed)

The ideal candidate would be available to work the following shifts:

Day, swing, or grave shift (on call)

This schedule is non-negotiable, but overtime is occasionally available for those who are interested.

The interview process consists of three mandatory steps:

Phone call with the director of operations (10-20 minutes)

In person "ride along" with a shift supervisor (1-2 hours)

Final Zoom panel interview (30 minutes)

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: variable depending on need, but all on-call officers receive first dibs on future full time openings.
