Job Description

Code 4 Private Security is currently hiring Part-Time Unarmed Security Guards to work at Transitional Living Centers in the City of San Jose. Officers will help maintain a safe and supportive environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Multiple shifts are available including morning, swing, and graveyard.

This position is ideal for individuals who are professional, dependable, and comfortable working in a residential or social services environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide security coverage at assigned Transitional Living Center sites

• Conduct foot patrols of the property and common areas

• Monitor entrances, exits, and resident activity

• Enforce site rules, curfews, and company policies

• Observe and report suspicious, unsafe, or disruptive behavior

• Write clear Daily Activity Reports and incident reports

• Provide customer service and professional interaction with residents, staff, and visitors

• Respond appropriately to emergencies and contact law enforcement when necessary

• Assist staff with de-escalation and conflict management when appropriate

Requirements

• Valid California Guard Card (required)

• Ability to pass a background check

• Reliable transportation and punctuality

• Strong communication and observation skills

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

• Professional appearance and demeanor

• Ability to remain calm and professional in sensitive situations

Preferred (not required):

• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, social services, shelters, or customer service

• CPR / First Aid certification

• Experience with de-escalation or working with vulnerable populations

Schedule & Availability

• Shifts include morning, swing, and graveyard

• Weekend and holiday availability may be required depending on assignment
