Armed Security Guard Supervisor (Guard Level II)

Job Summary:

The Armed Security Guard Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all assigned contract security personnel, ensuring proper staffing, discipline, scheduling, compliance, and daily performance. This position performs armed guard duties while supervising armed and unarmed officers at assigned sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise all assigned security personnel on shift.
• Prepare schedules, shift assignments, and relief coverage.
• Ensure posts are fully staffed and no open posts occur.
• Conduct inspections and quality control visits.
• Enforce post orders, company policies, and client instructions.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, alarms, and security breaches.
• Maintain radio communication with management and control desk.
• Review and submit daily activity reports, incident reports, and timesheets.
• Ensure guards maintain proper appearance, uniforms, licenses, and equipment.
• Provide coaching, corrective action, and performance counseling.
• Assist with access control, badge checks, vehicle inspections, and patrol duties.
• Ensure compliance with FPCON / threat level changes requiring armed readiness.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid California BSIS Guard Card (required)
• Valid California BSIS Firearm Permit (required; armed position)
• Annual firearm qualification must be current
• At minimum, .40 caliber handgun proficiency; must meet California Penal Code standards
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of security guard experience; prior supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Must pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background check
• Civilian or military law enforcement/security experience preferred
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and remain drug-free for the duration of the contract; subject to random testing
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
• Physically capable of frequent walking, standing, and stooping; occasional running/sprinting; able to lift up to 50 lbs
• No pending investigations by any federal, state, or local agency

Pay: $26.00 per hour
