Unarmed Security Guard – Carlsbad / Encinitas Areas
Pay Rate: $20.00 – $21.00 per hour

We are currently seeking professional and dependable Unarmed Security Guards to join our team in the Carlsbad and Encinitas areas. This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in providing excellent customer service while maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Job Duties:

The Unarmed Security Guard is responsible for maintaining safety and security through visibility, observation, and reporting while conducting foot patrols of assigned locations. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of assigned areas including buildings, parking lots, walkways, and common areas
• Monitor for suspicious activity, safety hazards, vandalism, trespassing, or policy violations
• Ensure doors, gates, and access points are properly secured
• Greet and assist employees, residents, visitors, and guests in a professional and courteous manner
• Provide directions, information, and general assistance as needed
• Enforce site rules and regulations calmly and professionally
• Observe, deter, and report criminal or suspicious behavior
• Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, or disturbances
• De-escalate situations using effective communication and professional presence
• Contact emergency services (police, fire, medical) when necessary
• Preserve incident scenes and provide accurate information to responding authorities
• Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and patrol reports
• Report safety concerns, maintenance issues, and unusual activity
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, and client staff
• Follow company policies, client procedures, and applicable laws
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
• Adhere to health and safety protocols and emergency procedures
• Avoid physical confrontation unless required for self-defense and permitted by policy

Requirements:

• Valid California Guard Card – REQUIRED
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Professional appearance and attitude
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Reliable transportation and strong punctuality
• Must be willing to travel to multiple locations throughout San Diego County
• OC certification preferred but not required
• Must be willing to obtain additional training and certifications as required
