This is an open opportunity available to all interested candidates. This recruitment will be used to establish an Eligibility List for the current Campus Security Assistant vacancy shown below . This list will be active for three (3) months with the possibility to be extended.
The Campus Security Assistant patrols a school campus and adjacent property to ensure school security and pupil safety. This position supervises pupils on campus and at school activities and assists in the enforcement of rules and regulations.

Position Schedule (for any future vacancies):
- Positions in this classification typically work 10 months of the year.
- Set schedules for positions in this classification might vary but are typically 5-40 hrs per week.
- Candidates interested in becoming a substitute Campus Security Assistant should apply to this posting.
- Specific hours and schedules will be discussed during the interview process.
Some positions within this classification may require the incumbent to be Bilingual in English/Spanish.
- Candidates considered for positions that require bilingual skills will be invited to a Performance Test (Qualifying Only) for oral and written fluency.
- Bilingual positions qualify for a 5% bilingual differential.
The Campus Security Assistant will be paid on the ParaEducator Salary Schedule. Salary Grade: 26. The ParaEducator Salary Schedule can be found by clicking here.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to graduation from high school. One year of working with youth in an organized setting and/or security guard experience is desirable. Some positions may require bilingual verbal, written, and translation skills.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid California driver's license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided) may be required for some positions.

- The supplemental questions should be answered thoroughly, clearly and concisely as the responses provided (along with the entire application package) will be carefully reviewed to determine which candidates will move forward in the recruitment process.

EXAMINATION PROCESS:
Only those candidates whose application demonstrates a combined education and experience that meets the minimum requirements for the position(s) will be considered qualified and advanced in the examination process.
All positions require qualified candidates to pass the examination process which may include one or more of the following components:
- An application screening and evaluation based on the candidate's education, work history, and responses to the supplemental questions. Please note that not all qualified applicants will advance to subsequent phases of the examination process.
- A multiple-choice exam specific to the position.
- Exams will be conducted remotely utilizing an online testing platform. Exam information will be communicated to candidates via email. Access to the internet and the use of a camera-ready desktop/laptop with a microphone are required to participate in these processes.
