Job Overview

Civil Security Solutions is seeking a Part-Time Security Guard to support site coverage at a hotel property. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests, staff, and property assets through active patrol, access control, and professional incident response. Security Guards serve as a visible presence and are expected to demonstrate strong customer service, situational awareness, and de-escalation skills.

Location: Hampton Inn

Schedule: Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday

Hours: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Position Type: Part-Time

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Assist, direct, and monitor all persons entering and exiting the property.

Conduct routine security patrols of designated areas on foot.

Monitor parking areas to prevent loitering, misconduct, or unauthorized activity.

Respond promptly to emergencies, incidents, and alarms at the assigned site.

Observe, identify, and report suspicious activity to the shift supervisor.

Maintain accurate daily activity reports (DARs) and logbooks.

Utilize de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques when necessary.

Direct emergency personnel and assist with traffic flow during emergencies or drills.

Enforce site rules, regulations, and company policies.

Perform access control through established admittance procedures.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public and staff.

Demonstrated customer service mindset and professional demeanor.

Ability to remain calm and act efficiently in crisis or emergency situations.

Experience observing and reporting suspicious behavior and security violations.

Ability to write clear, detailed incident and narrative reports.

Intermediate computer skills to operate wireless technology and monitoring systems.

Ability to operate and monitor CCTV systems.

Physical & Work Requirements

Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.

Ability to climb stairs, ramps, or ladders as required.

Ability to lift or carry up to 40 pounds occasionally.

Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heat or cold.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Current and valid California BSIS Security Officer License.

Powers to Arrest Certificate.

Ability to operate radio, telephone, and monitoring equipment.

Knowledge of public safety and security procedures and protocols.
