Armed Officer – Site Lead


Schedule:
Friday- Monday 15:00-23:00 (Flex Fill Tuesday-Thursday)

Full Time + Flex Day


PAY:
Base Pay Rate $24.46 + Benefit hour ($3.39) Total hourly $27.85

The Armed Shift Lead San Diego Central Library is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing daily field operations, supervising security personnel, and delivering training programs at the Central Library. This individual ensures operational excellence, enforces compliance with company standards, BSIS regulations, and supports employee development through training and coaching. The role combines supervisory site duties with structured training responsibilities to support overall service delivery and workforce readiness.

Key Responsibilities:


Shift Lead

  • Provide direct field supervision and guidance to assigned security officers across at Central Library
  • Conduct routine site inspections to ensure post compliance, officer performance, and uniform appearance
  • Respond promptly to client concerns, incidents, or operational issues; provide on-site leadership and resolution
  • Serve as a liaison between field officers and management, maintaining open lines of communication
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations based on field audits and inspections

Training & Development

  • Delivers in-service training for assigned security officers in compliance with BSIS standards
  • Conduct site-specific training based on post orders, emergency protocols, and client requirements
  • Provide remedial training and performance coaching as needed to improve officer effectiveness
  • Assist with the development and revision of training materials and SOPs in accordance with BSIS regulations
  • Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and documentation for compliance audits


Operational Support

  • Assist with scheduling, staffing adjustments, and shift coverage during emergencies or staffing shortages
  • Collaborate with Account Managers, Operations Managers, HR, Post Commnader and Recruiting to support site-level onboarding and candidate assessments
  • Participate in investigations, incident follow-up, and disciplinary processes in coordination with HR and Operations teams

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Must possess a valid California Guard Card issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS)
  • BSIS Firearms Permit
  • Completion of BSIS-mandated training: Powers to Arrest and Weapons of Mass Destruction
  • Additional BSIS-required continuing education certificates (e.g., Annual Refresher Training)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of security industry experience, with 1–2 years in a supervisory or training capacity
  • Strong knowledge of California security operations and BSIS compliance standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual a plus
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging training sessions to small and large groups
  • Proficient in report writing, incident documentation, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have a valid California driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
