Night Watch/Evening Doorman

We’re hiring a Night Watch/Evening doorman for an apartment community near the Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio. You’ll be the on-site presence keeping residents and property safe during evening hours. The right person carries themselves with authority, stays sharp, and knows how to handle situations — from de-escalation to emergencies — without hesitation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor building entrances, common areas, parking areas, and grounds throughout the evening shift
• Control access to the building — greet authorized visitors, turn away unauthorized individuals
• Conduct regular interior and exterior foot patrols of the property
• Respond to noise complaints, disturbances, and emergency situations with professionalism
• Document all incidents and maintain a nightly activity log for management review
• Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and suspicious activity to property management
• Provide a visible security presence that deters criminal activity and reassures residents

Ideal Candidate Backgrounds

We are specifically seeking candidates with backgrounds in the following areas:

• Military veterans — active duty, reserve, retired, or honorably discharged
• Current or former law enforcement, corrections, or probation officers
• Licensed security guards, especially those with hospital, venue, or residential experience
• Current or former bouncers, nightclub security, or event security personnel
• Anyone with a strong physical presence, exceptional situational awareness, and a calm-under-pressure temperament

Requirements

• Must be able to stay alert and on your feet for the duration of each shift
• Must pass a background check and drug screening
• Texas Level II Security Officer License preferred (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong verbal communication and de-escalation skills
• Dependable and punctual — this role requires consistent attendance every scheduled shift
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
