Yucca Tap Room is one of Tempe’s longest-running live-music venues — a community spot known for local shows, great drinks, and a laid-back, welcoming vibe. We’re looking for dependable, professional Security Team Members to help maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for guests, staff, and performers.

Position Overview

As a Bouncer/Security member at Yucca Tap Room, you play a key role in guest experience and safety. You will monitor entry points, check IDs, de-escalate conflict when needed, and keep the venue secure during nightly operations and live events.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests and manage entry in accordance with age and ID requirements
• Check IDs and verify legal drinking age
• Maintain a visible presence throughout the venue (inside, patio, and exterior areas)
• Monitor guest behavior and identify potential safety or policy issues
• De-escalate conflicts professionally and calmly
• Remove disruptive or unsafe guests when necessary
• Assist with crowd control during busy nights and live performances
• Support bartenders and floor staff by maintaining a safe environment
• Document and report any incidents to management
• Assist during emergencies (medical, evacuation, disorderly conduct, etc.)
• Uphold venue policies and state laws regarding alcohol service and behavior
• Assist bartenders with basic bar-backing (stocking, ice, supplies) as needed

Skills & Qualifications

• Prior security or bar/venue experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and people skills
• Ability to stay calm, professional, and assertive in stressful situations
• Strong observational skills and situational awareness
• Physically able to stand/walk for extended periods and intervene when necessary
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Availability on nights, weekends, and special events
• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus

Pay: $15.00 – $20.00 per hour
