This is a part-time, temporary position not eligible for benefits.
Monday – Friday; 6:30 AM -2:30 PM or 2:30 PM-10:30 PM;
Saturday 6:30 AM -2:30 PM;
Sunday 6:30 AM -2:30 PM;
approximately 24 hours per week
Provides security by foot or bicycle. Provides non-law enforcement assistance to students, faculty, staff, and visitors at Glendale Community College. This position is stationed at the GCC Main campus.
Maintains order and security by foot or bike patrol; provides a safe and secure environment for all persons using the college facilities; enforces rules and regulations pertaining to Glendale Community College; unlocks/locks buildings and classrooms; provides first aid; enforces parking regulations; responds to “service calls” (non-emergency); provides a variety of assistance to persons using the college facilities. Position works with a diverse population of administrators, faculty, staff, students, and the public.
Successful candidate may be required to fill other vacant shifts as needed. Position is limited to under 25 hours per week but may work up to 40 during periods of extra staffing needs and provide holiday coverage. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time in all types of weather. Requires daily exposure to the outdoor elements. May be required to lift objects up to 50 lbs. Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check. May be required to submit to periodic comprehensive background checks.
