Job Summary

Location: Pecos campus / Williams campus

This position provides safety and security services to the college community of CGCC. These services include patrols, safety inspections, unlocking and locking doors, parking enforcement, assisting with calls for medical assistance, and providing other forms of non-law enforcement assistance to students, employees and visitors of CGCC.


Essential Functions

50% – Provide safety and maintain vigilance to our campus community through patrols and safety inspections.

25% – Perform lock and unlock functions electronically and manually on buildings and rooms. Electronic Door Access (Velocity). This would include electronic door unlocks and lockdowns in the events of an active shooter or other emergency.

10% – Provide information and general assistance to the campus community (staff, faculty, students and visitors).

10% – Perform other duties as assigned (monitor and control buildings using electronic access controls [Velocity], using Dynamic Forms to perform required life safety systems testing).

  • Life Safety Systems testing within Remedy (Lockdown, Emergency Call Boxes, Hard and Soft Panic Alarms, Emergency Broadcast Speakers, IP Phone Broadcasts, along with AED Testing).
  • Monitor our video surveillance system (Verkada). This includes capturing, storing and retrieving camera footage.

5% – Enforce college parking regulations.


Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED


Special Working Conditions

  • Temperature – Work outdoors in a variety of temperatures and environmental conditions
  • Lifting – i.e. May be required to lift or carry up to 25lbs.
