Security Officer

Duties

• Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV cameras and alarm systems to detect suspicious activity or security breaches.
• Conduct regular patrols of the premises, including buildings, parking areas, and surrounding grounds, to identify potential security risks or hazards.
• Control access points using advanced access control systems, verifying identities and authorizations for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
• Respond swiftly to emergencies by following established procedures for fire safety, medical incidents, or security threats; operate AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) and Taser devices as needed.
• Write detailed incident reports documenting any security breaches, accidents, or unusual activities; communicate effectively with law enforcement or emergency responders when required.
• Perform background checks on new personnel or vendors in accordance with company policies and legal regulations.
• Enforce compliance with security regulations by conducting searches, managing crowd control during events, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Experience

• Proven experience in physical security roles such as law enforcement, military service, or private security is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with surveillance equipment including CCTV systems and access control technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to handle conflict de-escalation techniques effectively while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures including first aid (CPR certification), AED operation, fire safety protocols, and heavy lifting techniques.
• Strong report writing skills with attention to detail; experience in incident report documentation is preferred.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently during patrols or when assisting in emergency situations.
• Prior experience conducting background checks or performing loss prevention activities is a plus.
