POSITION TITLE: Security Drive/Guard – Part Time Seasonal

REPORTS TO: Security Manager

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Primary Function:
Provide safe and reliable transportation using an 8-passenger van for offsite seasonal tour locations as needed and serve as a seasonal shuttle driver for the studios. This role also supports the security and operational needs of the facility by performing routine safety checks, monitoring activity, and assisting staff and guests.

Secondary Function (Security):
Perform routine security procedures and other duties at the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art, including responding to emergencies and addressing public safety concerns; security support duties are limited to routine monitoring, reporting, and response in accordance with established procedures and training.

POSITION RELATIONSHIPS: Maintain a good rapport and collaboration with tour staff, visitor services, security personnel, and administrative staff to ensure smooth operation and guest safety. Interact with visitors and contractors in a professional and courteous manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Transport visitors and staff from Museum to offsite and campus locations according to a scheduled route
• Safely operate company van and shuttle in compliance with Brandywine policies and adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Protects the Conservancy & Museum against loss or damage to all assets.
• Provides a safe environment for staff and visitors on Conservancy & Museum of Art properties.
• Follows all security procedures, as assigned.
• Responds to incidents and emergencies in accordance with established procedures and training, and coordinates with appropriate personnel as needed.
• Responsible for wearing the uniform as specified by the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and meet all eligibility requirements to operate company vehicles in accordance with organizational insurance standards.
• Ability to operate a passenger van (8 total passengers) and shuttle (14 passengers)
• Ability to interact in a professional manner with public and other employees regarding issues of safety, security, maintenance, deliveries, etc.
• Ability to perform first aid, and AED/CPR, training provided.
• Ability to work all assigned shifts, including holidays, weekends, special evening events and emergency situations as needed.
• Ability to stand for at least three hours at a time.
• Ability to climb four flights of stairs.
• Ability to use a fire extinguisher.
• Ability to work independently at times
• Available and reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
• Must be able to successfully complete a background check that is job-related and consistent with business necessity.
• Ability to operate security equipment including basic computer systems.
• Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.

COMPENSATION: This position is a seasonal driving role compensated at $18.00 per hour during the tour season (approximately early April through mid-November); while employees may occasionally be asked to support security-related duties as needed, all hours worked during the tour season will be paid at the driver rate, and at the conclusion of the season the position will end, with the opportunity to apply for available security guard roles at their established rates.
