ARMED SECURITY OFFICER (RELIGIOUS FACILITY & EVENTS DETAIL)

About the Role

A licensed private security agency is seeking professional, highly disciplined Armed Security Officers to provide high-visibility access control, member verification, and physical security for a prominent religious facility and community center in Wilmington, DE.

This post requires high situational awareness, exceptional customer service skills, and a polished, professional presence to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for congregants, students, and guests.

Schedule & Availability Expectations

Coverage supports scheduled school hours, weekly services, and life cycle events:

• Scope of Services: Security detail covers Hebrew School sessions, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, memorial services/funerals, and special congregation events.
• Scheduling Notice:
• Standard schedules for recurring events (school, regular services, planned ceremonies) are issued 2–3 weeks in advance.
• Emergency or short-notice shifts (such as funeral services) may require deployment on as little as 72 hours’ notice. Flexibility and high availability are strongly preferred.
• Estimated Hours: Averages 5 to 10 hours per week baseline, with additional hours available depending on event volume.

Key Responsibilities

• Access Control & Identity Verification: Main post is stationed at the primary facility entrance to verify members, visitors, and guests using wristbands, guest lists, or designated physical identifiers.
• Perimeter & Entry Security: Secure all entry and exit doors, maintain a vigilant presence, and prevent unauthorized entry.
• Event & Crowd Safety: Assist facility leadership with crowd flow during large services, ceremonies, and school drop-off/pick-up hours.
• De-Escalation & Hazard Identification: Swiftly identify, assess, and de-escalate potential security threats or disruptions while maintaining a calm, reassuring posture.

Qualifications & Requirements

• State Certification: Must possess a valid Delaware Red Card (Armed Security Guard License – Yellow Card / Red Card) issued by Delaware State Police Professional Licensing.
• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of armed security, law enforcement, or military security experience. Experience with house-of-worship security or event access control is a strong plus.
• Communication & Demeanor: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to balance strict access enforcement with a warm, respectful approach to congregants.
• Reliability: Valid Driver’s License and reliable personal transportation to Wilmington, DE.

Required Duty Gear (Officer Must Provide)

• Active-duty firearm with a minimum of three (3) 15-round magazines.
• Full duty belt (level 2 or 3 retention holster, mag pouches, handcuff pouch, high-lumen flashlight).
• Level IIIA body armor (concealable or tactical carrier).
• Black tactical pants and black duty boots.(Company-provided branded polo shirts supplied upon hire).
