Job Description

As a Security Officer – Unarmed Grounds Patrol in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy education location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document observations, and provide standout customer service through clear communication with students, staff, and visitors. What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access control practices, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of academic buildings, residential areas, common spaces, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
• Monitor and respond to alarms, calls for service, and other incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus stakeholders and public responders when needed.
• Screen and verify identification, credentials, and/or visitor authorization as required, providing directions and assisting with building entry and special event traffic flow.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observed conditions in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be able to ride a bike.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
