The Security Supervisor assists in leading the Peddie Campus Security & Safety department. This full-time position provides day-to-day leadership, supports a safe and secure campus, supervises personnel, maintains operational coverage, and responds to incidents and emergencies. The Supervisor also works with the Director of Security on department initiatives, training, emergency preparedness, and continuous improvement.
- Supervise security officers and ensure proper execution of assigned duties.
- Plan, organize, assign, and direct work; delegate responsibilities and maintain adequate post coverage.
- Train new officers and support ongoing employee development in accordance with School policies and applicable laws.
- Investigate incidents and prepare accurate, timely reports and documentation.
- Maintain knowledge of and adherence to School rules, regulations, policies, and orders.
- Protect School assets and interact professionally with students, employees, guests, and local law enforcement.
- Assist with timekeeping, door-fob/access-control, camera, emergency notification, and other security systems as assigned.
- Respond to emergencies, take predetermined action, and render first aid when appropriate.
- Assist with security planning and staffing for major campus events, athletic events, and special functions.
- Participate in emergency preparedness exercises and campus safety assessments.
- Work directly with the Director of Security on department initiatives, policies, procedures, and long-term planning.
- Help develop and deliver security training and maintain current knowledge of professional security and emergency-response practices.
- Build positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, families, visitors, and community partners while serving as a professional and approachable representative of Peddie Campus Security & Safety.
- Opportunities to expand leadership responsibilities and develop professionally within the School’s security operation.
- Must reside within close proximity to campus and be able to respond to campus needs when required.
- Must be capable of assuming the lead role and responsibilities of the Director of Security when the Director is unavailable.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, and comfortable using Google Workspace and other Microsoft/Google applications.
- Must be available to fill in as needed and work any available shift, including day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Strong communication, leadership, judgment, reliability, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
This is a full-time, 12-month position with an annual salary range of $65,000–$75,000, depending on education and experience.
