Security Officer – School

We are seeking a professional, unarmed Security Officer with concierge experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safeguarding our school premises, staff, visitors, and students by maintaining a secure environment, detecting suspicious behavior, de-escalating conflicts, and preventing vandalism or unlawful activity. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, inspire respect and authority, and possess keen observation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and authorize the entry of individuals onto the property
• Secure all exits, doors, and windows at the conclusion of operations
• Monitor surveillance systems and investigate disturbances or unlawful acts
• Assess and respond appropriately to alarms and emergency situations
• Investigate and report suspicious activity, incidents, or potential threats
• Provide assistance to students, staff, or visitors in need
• Patrol school grounds regularly to maintain order and establish a visible security presence
• Complete and submit accurate daily activity and incident reports
• Standing/Patrolling Post

Skills

• Proven experience as a Security Officer
• Concierge or customer service experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of security protocols and public safety guidelines
• Excellent observation, surveillance, and conflict de-escalation skills
• Ability to write clear and detailed reports
• Law enforcement or military background is a plus
• High School diploma or equivalent required

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour
