Wage – $26.03 per hour

Schedule – Full Time, 8hr shifts, Monday – Friday

What you will be doing: You’ll be responsible for the management of center security which includes safety, fire protection, security, and liaison with law enforcement and other support agencies, in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential Functions:

1. Assume supervisory responsibility of all security activities as directed.

2. Ensure the physical security of buildings, center vehicles and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks and emergency equipment. Maintain log of findings and corrective action taken.

3. Advise and train subordinate personnel in security procedures.

4. Assist in transporting ill or injured students and staff for care as required.

5. Conduct at least quarterly customer satisfaction surveys of departmental performance. Assist manager in instituting corrective actions.

6. Assist in reporting and handling fires and other natural disasters.

7. Ensure effective operation of intrusion alarm systems in buildings as required.

8. Assist staff and law enforcement personnel in controlling disturbances. Conduct preliminary investigation and submit accident reports.

9. Act as liaison with neighboring law enforcement and fire agencies when in charge.

10. Perform administrative functions such as logs, incident reports, accident documentation and conduct investigations as directed.

11. Assure accountability of student check-out and check-in proceedings by scheduling appropriate coverage.

12. Provide proactive conflict resolution with students and ensure assigned staff refers students to appropriate departments as necessary.

13. Coordinate in conjunction with other center departments, programs that foster student retention.

14. Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.

15. Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.

16. It is expected the incumbent will work overtime when directed to do so.

17. Regular and predictable attendance is required.

18. Participate in student employability programs and activities.

19. Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.

20. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.

21. Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.

22. Cultivate and maintain a climate on center which is free of harassment, intimidation and disrespect to

provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and two years experience. Supervisory experience preferred. Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required. State security guard certification required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.
