Airport Security Officer – Full-Time & Part-Time | $22.35/hr

Overview

Inter-Con Security is hiring Airport Security Officers for transportation and airport operations in Jamaica, NY. We are seeking professional, dependable, and customer-focused individuals who are ready to work in a fast-paced and highly secure environment.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates with prior security, military, law enforcement, airport, or customer service experience.

Pay Rate:
$22.35/hour

Position Type:
Full-Time & Part-Time

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid New York State Security Guard License
• Minimum 2 years of qualifying experience in security, military, law enforcement, or related fields
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid Driver’s License required
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly

Preferred Qualifications:

• Military or airport security experience
• Criminal Justice education or coursework
• FDNY Fire Guard Certification preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Observe and report suspicious activity and security concerns
• Monitor restricted and secured areas
• Conduct access control for personnel and vehicles
• Perform patrols, inspections, and perimeter checks
• Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations
• Prepare detailed incident and activity reports
• Provide customer assistance and directional support
• Enforce site security procedures and regulations
• Assist with crowd management and emergency response situations
• Maintain professional appearance and operational readiness at all times

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to climb stairs and patrol large areas
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to respond quickly during emergencies

Requirements:

• Must successfully complete background screening and drug testing
• Must qualify for airport credentialing and security clearance
• Must maintain professional grooming and appearance standards
• Must be comfortable interacting with the public in high-traffic environments
