Part-Time Security Officer – Port Facility

DSI Security Services is seeking a reliable and vigilant Part-Time Security Officer to join our team at a secured port facility in Jersey City, NJ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment while providing excellent customer service to visitors, drivers, contractors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or unusual activity.
• Verify employee, visitor, and truck driver credentials entering the facility.
• Maintain access control procedures and enforce port security policies.
• Respond promptly to alarms and incidents while following proper safety and security protocols.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service to all employees, visitors, and contractors.
• Maintain accurate and detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, and irregularities.
• Assist in enforcing company and client policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, port authorities, and emergency personnel when necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse individuals.
• Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the shift.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work outdoors and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Previous experience in access control, logistics, warehouse, or port security preferred.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Must pass all pre-employment screenings.
• Valid SORA License required.
• Port Access Card required
• Must be able to obtain Port Access Credentials.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.

Work Schedule

This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling available. Evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday availability is preferred.
