Armed Security Officer

Job Summary

The Armed Security Guard is responsible for protecting property, personnel, and visitors by maintaining a visible security presence, monitoring access points, enforcing safety protocols, and responding to incidents in accordance with all applicable Florida state licensing and legal requirements. This is a part-time position requiring flexibility, professionalism, and strict adherence to security procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Possess a minimum of one (1) year of security experience or qualifying military service.
• Possess no less than twelve (12) months of prior security guard experience.
• Maintain current Florida armed security licensing (Class G, and Class D).
• Maintain current CPR certification.
• Be trained in verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques.
• Demonstrate proficiency in written and spoken English.

Duties

• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
• Demonstrate proficiency using computer systems, visitor access software, surveillance systems, cameras, and related technology.
• Maintain a courteous and customer-service-oriented attitude.
• Identify unauthorized personnel and unauthorized access attempts.
• Recognize and report alarms, fire hazards, water intrusion, and property damage.
• Immediately report safety hazards and security concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Interact professionally with employees, visitors, contractors, and emergency responders.
• Remove unauthorized persons from the property when appropriate and contact law enforcement when necessary.
• Conduct regular patrols of assigned premises, including foot and/or vehicle patrols as required.
• Monitor and control access to the facility, verifying credentials of employees, visitors, and vendors.
• Maintain accurate logs and incident reports as required by post orders.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations.
• Follow post orders and site-specific security protocols at all times.

Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and climb stairs as needed.
• Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations, including running if necessary.
• Ability to carry and properly handle an authorized firearm in accordance with Florida law and agency policy.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 – 40.0 per week
