Job Summary
The Security Guard position is responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of the company’s employees, visitors, and associated property. This role calls for an individual with a professional yet approachable personality who can make sound decisions with limited supervision. The Security Guard is required to patrol, respond to safety and security threats, and establish a security presence. The security department also functions as a front-facing customer service representative for Bradford Marine and must always be polite and professional and maintain good customer relations.
Key Job Responsibilities

Protect the company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment

Patrol randomly or regularly building and perimeter

Monitoring alarms and surveillance systems

Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates

Investigates and writes reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards, and other security-related situations

Provides any needed assistance to customers, employees, and visitors following the department’s procedures

Greeting visitors, checking them in, and directing them to the appropriate department

May perform duties during required coverage as assigned

Perform other related duties as assigned by the security department manager

Education, Work Experience, Licenses, and Certificates

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Minimum 2 years security guard experience

Unarmed Security License (Class D) required

Valid, up-to-date driver’s license/insurance
-
Military or previous law enforcement experience is a plus
