Job Description

As a Security Officer – Facility Entry Screener in Fort Lauderdale, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government aviation location as a Screener, supporting daily screening operations and access control. You will operate screening equipment, verify badges, manage entry points, and communicate clearly with travelers and staff while documenting security-related activity. You will bring a customer-focused approach and steady attention to detail in a fast-paced setting, backed by an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related screening procedures at designated checkpoints, following site-specific policies and post orders for a government aviation location.
  • Verify identification and/or credentials, manage visitor and employee entry, and direct individuals through established screening and access control processes.
  • Monitor screening and access points for prohibited items or irregular activity, documenting findings and escalating concerns per protocol.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of nearby areas and perimeter points as assigned, with working environments and conditions that may vary by location.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 3+ Years’ Combined Law Enforcement/Military/Security Experience OR a College Degree.
  • Be 21+ Years of Age.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • X‐Ray Screening Experience is preferred.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
