Job Description

As a Security Officer – Armed Nightshift Driver Patrol in South Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a residential community, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with calm, professional communication. This is a driving post that requires a valid driver’s license and an armed guard card or license. You will represent Allied Universal with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first, customer-focused approach.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a residential community and/or club setting.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of community streets, amenities, parking areas, and perimeter points to help identify suspicious activity, hazards, and/or policy violations.
  • Control access at gates and/or entry points by checking credentials, verifying visitor authorization, directing traffic flow, and documenting entries and exits per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting local law enforcement and/or medical responders as required and providing clear information to arriving units.
  • Complete patrol logs and incident reports, communicate observations to oncoming shifts and site contacts, and support investigations by preserving observations and available information.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience or at least 2 years of security supervisor or manager experience or at least 3 years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
