Unarmed Security Officer – Shopping Center Foot Patrol
Location: Sites in LA PUENTE
Compensation: $19.50/hour
Job Type: Full-time

Position Overview:

We are hiring Unarmed Security Officers for on-foot patrol assignments at shopping centers. Officers will be responsible for maintaining a visible security presence, deterring criminal activity, reporting safety hazards, and providing outstanding service to tenants, patrons, and property management. Candidates must be comfortable walking for extended periods and working outdoors in varying conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular foot patrols throughout assigned shopping center, including storefronts, parking areas, and common spaces.
• Utilize the Detex guard tour system or similar reporting technology to log checkpoints and provide real-time activity documentation.
• Complete detailed daily activity reports (DARs), incident reports, and safety logs in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitor for and report all suspicious behavior, trespassing, loitering, vandalism, or any activity that may pose a threat to public safety or property.
• Ensure all fire lanes, exits, and walkways remain clear and accessible.
• Provide customer service to tenants and guests by offering assistance or guidance as needed.
• Maintain situational awareness and promptly report potential safety hazards, broken fixtures, unsafe conditions, or emergency situations to the site supervisor and/or property management.
• Follow post orders and enforce property rules and regulations consistently and professionally.
• Work collaboratively with law enforcement or emergency responders if incidents escalate.

Qualifications:

• Must have a valid BSIS Guard Card issued by the State of California.
• Familiarity with the Detex reporting system or other guard tour systems is a plus.
• Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods—this is a fully on-foot patrol position.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; must be able to write clear and thorough reports.
• Excellent observation skills and attention to detail.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times while on duty.

Shift Availability:

• 8AM-4PM & 4PM-12AM PART-TIME & FULL TIME AVAILABLE
